Habitation Velier Foursquare 2013 Barbados Pure Single Rum is part of the highly anticipated 2nd release from VELIER. In 2016 VELIER launched the Habitation Velier range, being the world’s only range of Pure Single Rums acting as a reference point to the type of rum produced by each distillery’s unique pot still. The term ‘Pure Single Rum’ defines a rum from a single distillery, distilled exclusively in pot stills. Pot still rums are more complex and typically more suitable to long ageing. The vintage Pure Single Rums are entirely aged in the tropics, ensuring a natural, accelerated aging compared to European ageing, at the expense of higher angels share. The 2nd release continues the vision of showcasing some of the worlds finest pot still rums, featuring expression from Worthy Park and Hampden in Jamaica, and Foursquare and Mount Gay in Barbados. Habitation Velier Foursquare 2013 Barbados Pure Single Rum is the first edition of a Pure Single Rum from the Foursquare Rum Distillery and renowned master distiller Richard Seale. Usually this distillery produces honest and exceptional Single Blended Rum (column traditional pot still) mixing them directly after distillation prior to maturation in the barrels. Foursquare 2013 Barbados Pure Single Rum instead is exclusively distilled in pot stills and refined entirely in ex-cognac barrels. Bottled in barrel proof, 64% ABV, unfiltered cold, sugar free, without the addition of any foreign substance to the distillate, this rum expresses, albeit even after only 2 years, depth, harmony and a typical expression of the traditional style of Barbados rum. A world premiere.
