Transcontinental Rum Line Foursquare Barbados 2005 Small Batch rum is a blend of pot still and column still rums. This small batch was first aged in a tropical climate in ex-bourbon casks for eleven years at the renowned Foursquare Rum Distillery. It then continued its maturation in ex-rum casks in a continental climate for two years. Combining exuberance and rigour, right from the start this version takes us by the taste buds to discover every corner of the very complex palette of flavours and aromas right through to the empty glass. Gift presentation box included. Tasting Notes: Spicy black pepper, camphor, orange zest, cayenne and heady florals (geranium). Allowed to breathe, there are notes of sugarcane, mushroom, moss and white peach | The palate is clear and lively with notes of pipe tobacco, gillyflower and strong spices (turmeric, nutmeg, curry). The mid-palate is flooded with milky coconut and almond, syrupy cane sugar and waves of honeyed notes of bay leaf and lime blossom | Finish is long and balanced with oriental character (rose petal, Turkish delight, pistachio. After some time, a delicious apricot liqueur coats the tongue, while grated ginger and gentian root bring a refreshing bitterness to the sides of the mouth.
